COVID-19 Coronavirus myths fact check by WHO: 118 countries of the world have been hit by Coronavirus. 04 April By 9:00 pm, 11 lakh 42 thousand 301 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed worldwide. 61,240 people have lost their lives. The World Health Organization (WHO - World Health Organization) has declared coronavirus a global pandemic.

In the midst of all this, many such things are being spread about COVID-19 coronavirus which is not true. The WHO has made a list of 11 such things which are myths, but are fast becoming viral worldwide. All these are being explained further.


As the cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) increase in the country, many kinds of misconceptions are spreading among the people. AIIMS director Randeep Guleria gave some suggestions to break these misconceptions. He told that you can avoid coronavirus by washing hands well at fixed intervals.

   Myth: Meat and poultry products are also not safe.

Fact: Now these human has become an infected virus, which spreads from one person to another through cough and close contact. Now it cannot go into animals, so skipping meat or egg food cannot protect you from this (COVID-19) coronavirus because it cannot be infected with eggs or meat.



   Myth: Do not use canned and imported food.

Fact: WHO says it is wrong. The chances of infecting a person's commercial goods are quite low and the risk of getting the COVID-19 (coronavirus) in many packaged goods that you have been able to travel to in different conditions/temperatures are quite low.


    Myth: The danger can be transmitted from domestic animals as well.



 


Fact: There is no evidence to say that this COVID-19 (coronavirus) can be spread to domestic animals as well. It is a fully human infected virus. Therefore, the probability of spreading to animals is negligible. Right now it is spreading from man to man only.

   Myth: Using sanitizer as safe as washing your hands with soap

Fact: If you are traveling and do not have soap and water available to wash hands, then you can use a sanitizer. Experts recommend washing hands with soap and water. Sanitizers are made of chemical, which eradicate the virus but it remains on the chemical palms. If you don’t have a sanitizer, then do wash your hands with soap and water when you return home.



   Myth: The COVID-19 (coronavirus)  does not survive in hot climates. Will the coronavirus be killed by increasing temperature?

Fact: Many cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) have also been found in some hot climate countries. So it would be wrong to say that the virus will not spread in places with a hot climate. No scientific evidence has been found regarding this claim.



   Myth: The virus can be avoided by the consumption of alcohol.

Fact: According to WHO, the consumption of alcohol cannot prevent the coronavirus. Consumption of alcohol does not eliminate the virus.

Fact: This is not true. Many people are suggesting such prescriptions but it has not been confirmed so far.






 Myth: The virus can be avoided by standing in front of the sun for two to three hours, drinking warm water and gargling.

Fact: No such cases have been reported so far, which can prove that these methods can prevent the coronavirus. It is not right that the sun's rays, hail and hot water can protect you from the virus.





Myth: The virus survives on metals for a long time.

Fact: If the metal is in the house, the virus can survive on it for about 8 to 10 hours. Generally, it survives for 3 to 4 hours. Increasing the temperature in the outdoor environment reduces the risk of the coronavirus spreading. There is no evidence for this yet.





Myth: COVID-19 is an airborne infection.

Fact: It is not a contagious air spread. It is spread by fine droplets released during a sneeze or cough. It can go one meter in the air. If you are in contact with the infected, the infected droplets may also appear on your face, the virus may survive on the surface for a few hours.



Mythology: Use of masks (surgical and N-95) is very important to avoid the coronavirus.




Fact: According to the World Health Organization, if a healthy person is going out of work, it is not necessary to use a surgical mask. If you have a cold or cough, you can wear a mask so that the disease does not spread to others. When the virus-infected person sneezes and coughs, the droplets of liquid spread from it can contain these viruses. The mask also prevents people from touching the face repeatedly. Masks are not necessary for healthy people. If the mask is dirty or moist, you change it. There is no use if the mask is not worn properly. Wash your hands thoroughly before touching or fixing the mask.
